17 years! Nearly a coming of age for Golden Antenna Records. It feels like it was yesterday when I released that Maserati record in March 2007. Iam so thankful to them! RIP Jerry Fuchs.
17 years and 57 releases later I will bury this label. In the beginning I released just records by friends. But over the years it turned out differently. I put out records by bands who believed in the same D.I.Y. values as myself. And what an amazing ride it has been! I met so many great artists from all over the world, I can´t thank them enough for giving me the opportunity to work with them – a small, one-person company operating out of his house.
At this point I want to thank my wife Sylke for always believing in me and always having my back in the strangest situations e.g. when I got up (for my real job) and checked emails from all over the world or when hundreds of kilograms of vinyl arrived at the house. Thank YOU! <3
This label doesn’t end because I have “grown up” and don’t want to be part of this scene anymore. I still have that curiosity to explore great music. But it has become much tougher to release records over the years. Much more stressful and time-consuming. As some of you may know, I had a stroke 2,5 years ago. The stress has become too much for me with a fulltime job, parents getting older and a label that needs a lot of time invested in it.
Last, but not least I want to thank the people who supported me throughout the years. You kept me going for such a long time. Thank you for your endless support!
